Urgent Notice to the Advertiser News Group Editor and Lauren Novak
I
hereby formally demand you do not include my details in your up and coming
article, which I assume will be headed rabble of Independents and Minor players,
or some such term.
I find your coverage, or should I say lack of coverage
of the Independents and minor players offensive, and shows your true disregard
for open and honest democracy, and lack of compassion for the electorate of
South Australia you purport to serve.
I have spent some 9 years trying to
become informed enough to represent the people of my beloved state, I am the
first to admit I have come a long way since my initial very uninformed candidacy
in 2002.
The last 18 months of my life has seen me sacrifice huge amounts
of income to give it my very best at this election, I have met with dozens of
groups, hundreds of people, and undertake a huge series of investigations, so as
to put forward an educated view in the hope of attracting public
support.
I have submitted over 200 media releases, on a huge variety of
issues to do with our governance, and undertaken several investigations, that
have been well received by the media, except of course the Advertiser, I have
held several of the largest awareness rallies seen this year, on important
issues like children in need, disability funding, child abuse issues, and spoken
at many more, in every case your reporting has been nothing less than
substandard, if not totally ignorant of the very important public messages
raised.
I refuse to be included in an article that will only serve to
demoralize the hard work and sacrifice of so many budding representatives
including that of myself and my wife, and having studied the advertisers
reporting of state elections for over a decade, I am more than certain of your
intentions for this article.
I will list the many issues I have studied
and submitted articles on, even though I very much doubt you will read down this
far, they include;
My self and my passions, motor sports initiatives,
patriotism, democracy and our voting system, the many failings of our supposed
minister for justice, SOCCA, law and order, our system of justice, or lack of,
the forgotten Australians, Families SA, WorkCover, Our rights and Liberties by
way of Legislative Change, ICAC, Disability and mental health funding and
initiatives, gun ownership and licensing, water and our underground resources,
Aquifers and storm water harvesting, Aboriginal sovereignty, Housing trust sell
of and lack of water infrastructure, road safety V’s Revenue, the Northern
expressway and their many corrupt practices, the ongoing RAH debate, on line
security, the Taxi industry, Mike Rann’s secret pipelines, the Wellington weir
debacle, the list is long and arduous.
Before you say it, I have not been
simply sprouting popularist mantra, in every case I have met with the heads of
departments, lobby groups and industry workers, and conducted on-line research
so I have not only a firm understanding of the issues, but also have the right
connections should I need to call on them, if I had to police legislative
change.
I assure you of this, your ability to dictate electoral
information is coming to an end, I must admit your online services is a little
more open to free speech, but still has a long way to go, The Independent
Weekly, many of the country media outlets, radio talk back and online talk back
and mediums like face book and the like, are showing your bias for what it is,
so I leave you with my catch cry of “Change is Necessary”
Mark M
Aldridge
Independent Candidate for the Legislative Council

Necessary”
